Spendenaufruf Samdrup Norbu Rinpoche
Dear friends,I am sending you an appeal for help from Rinpoche Samdrup Norbu from Bhutan. Please forward it to your friends too...
Best regards
Mateja and Arne Marsel
You might remember a young Rinpoche Samdrup Norbu, who was leading the Vajrakilaya Drubchen in Gangtey monastery in October 2008 in Bhutan. His lineage is very much connected to Peling tradition.. Sadly his monastery was badly damaged in the earthquake last fall [21st, September 2009], which did the most damage in the Eastern Bhutan, where Rinpoche’s has a monastery. He would appreciate any donation you can make; no matter how small, to help him repair his monastery and Naktshang [the family house].

Here is a brief history of the monastery and the lineage:
In the year 1627 Lama Tenzin Doendrup, the descendant of Terton Ratna Lingpa founded the Samten Choling monastery in eastern Bhutan and settled there. In that same year he also built a three stories high traditional house which is known to this present day as Naktshang. This house is a home for Lama and his family through the centuries.
Grandson of Lama Tenzin Doendrup, Lama Urgyen Drugyal had only a daughter, so he sent some of his students bearing gifts to Tamshing Choe Ji. Tamshing Choe Ji is a family lineage established by Terton's Pema Lingpa's eldest son. There they consolidated the marriage between the daughter and the youngest son of the family, Lama Doshel Samdrup. After the ceremony his parents gifted him with some Pema Lingpa termas/treasures:
Chenrezig/Avalohiteshvara
6 white naturally appearing letters on a mani black stone
pair of identical conch shells
a phurba/kila
a six inch statue of the future Buddha
He also got some termas from his elder brother, for example a five inch statue of Dorje Chang and many more. All of these treasures are now in Naktshang as a Tean/precious wealth.
In the year 1952 Rinpoche's grandfather Lama Sangay Tenzin, the great grandson of Lama Doshel Samdrup renovated the monastery and the Naktshang, and my late father Lama Choney Dorji re-constructed the monastery in 1982. Despite his great wish to re-build the Naktshang too, he wasn't able to do so due to the lack of funds. In the year 2000 he passed away and his wishes were unfulfilled. But before the young Rinpoche could aspire to rebuild the house, thus fullilling his father's wish, te house was damaged, together with the rebuilt monastery in the severe earthquake that affected the eastern part of Bhutan in September 2009.
Now Rinpoche is appealling to you for any help you can give.
Thank you!
